Hey Everyone. Here is my new band, “Bad Loud”. We are working on new material now but, in the meantime, here are new versions of songs from my previous acoustic records that have been given the “Bad Loud” treatment.
Donate what you want. Anything you can give will help us release more music in this same way. Cheers! Joey

Hi everyone, So I am happy to announce that I am officially releasing “Doesn’t Play Well With Others” on CD and Vinyl June 1 (Pre-order available now). The Subscription package from before was good fun and a great experience but, this time there is no time limit and whoever wants it can have it for a bit less money. Same record, same songs, minus the frills with one exception, my lost “Victoria’s Secret” photo on the cover. Enjoy! Oh yeah, the vinyl is red.
Also, Me and the new band “Joey Cape’s Bad Loud” just completed a full length, largely made up of songs from both “Bridge” and “Doesn’t Play Well With Others”.
It was awesome to work in a studio other than my basement. The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO. actually has windows. It was produced by Bill Stevenson and Andrew Berlin. Mixed by Jason Livermore. Sounds amazing. This is a band so it is unlikely I will release this one directly through our website. We are currently speaking to various labels. We’ll see. I will keep you posted. For now, the softer side of Joey Cape is available. Haha

Hey everybody.

Alright! So, I am happy, relieved and a little regretful to write that today I am releasing the 12th and final song from “Doesn’t Play Well With Others”. For those of you who don’t know D.P.W.W.O is my latest solo acoustic record, released in parts by monthly single song download throughout 2010. The new and last song is inappropriately entitled “I Always Knew This Was Going To End Badly”, which is not actually a reference to the record just a long song that seemed fitting as a closer. Check out the video!

You can find my new song along with all my other single song downloads here.

The Subscription Package is still available thru the end of 2010.

The package will include the CD, 12″ Vinyl, a DVD and some extra goodies.

I may do this again someday but for now, I think I will return to releasing songs and/or albums sporadically through my website and other sites like iTunes.
Thanks to those of you that have been along for the ride. It really has been a labor of love.

Hi there.

This month I released  the second to last song on “Doesn’t Play Well With Others” album. The song entitled “A Song For The Missing“, a title I nearly plagiarized from a book by Stewart O’Nan, having recently read it. While the song has nothing to do with the novel’s story, I felt that it represented the lyrics for my latest song well, which is about my loss of long term memories, a problem I have learned to live with. I made a video using footage of my childhood given to me by my Father. Watching these films for me is like watching a documentary with young actors. It’s weird. Anyway, I think some people will identify in some way with this song and video.

Hi there, Joey Cape here.

“I’m Not Gonna Save You” is the latest song for my album “Doesn’t Play Well With Others”. Some of you may know the song already because it was previously released on a split with Jon Snodgrass (Drag The River). It was my side of a 7″ called “Who Wants To Get Down” (Vinyl Collective/Suburban Home).

“I’m Not Gonna Save You” was recorded early in the process but I consider the song to be an integral part of the “D.P.W.W.O” and this period in my life. It is essential lyrically and musically to the album and hey…it was only a 7″. Ha ha.

Jon Snodgrass added a few harmonies since he regularly sang them live when we touring together. It’s a better mix as well. Hope you like it.

Hi there, Joey here
Well, it’s that time again, time for the next  release from D.P.W.W.O. We are down to the final 4 songs now. It’s bitter sweet because, although I know I have nearly accomplished what I set out to do this year, it will be weird and a little sad when it’s over.

Did releasing the album this way make it a better record? I don’t know. I just want to make sure the last few songs are the perfect finish or at least my best? The pressure is mounting. It’s all good. It has been challenging and a lot of fun. I can’t wait to actually hold the full length in my hand, complete with Violet’s art. It is going to be a great feeling. I am just 2 vocals away from completing the music.

The new song is entitled “The Fish Rots From The Head-Case Down”. The lyrics are Pirate themed and speak of the fall of a group, how it is often directly related to its captain’s faltering. Sometimes the group is unwilling to follow the suitable leader, other times the leader’s personal life falls apart and the dysfunction trickles down. “The Fish Rots…” is about the ladder, though I have experienced both scenarios and going it alone is more and more appealing as I grow older and tired of drama.

Hi. Joey Cape here. I had to push back the start of the monthly downloads 1 week.

I will release 1 song each and every month of 2010.
Beginning January 18th a new song will be available each month for download from my online store right here on www.joeycape.com.

By the end of 2010 the 12 songs released will make up my new record entitled “Doesn’t Play Well With Others”.

After all songs have been made available for download, “Doesn’t Play Well With Others” will also be released on CD and Vinyl.

There will also be an option for a subscription with some super special extras.

Those who get a subscription will get each song as it is released throughout 2010, PLUS in January of 2011 they will receive a package of ALL 12 songs on limited edition, signed CD and 12″ Vinyl with exclusive artwork. Subscribers will also receive a DVD created entirely by Joey Cape featuring 12 videos for each song on “Doesn’t Play Well With Others”, live concert footage, an interview and random behind the scenes tour footage.

Thanks for reading this, if you managed to read all of it! JC
