    Hey Joey, I dunno if you actually check this site, but I couldnt figure out any other way of contacting you and after the gig you gave in Rosario I felt the need to do it:

    You are an amazing musician, one of my key inspirations since I was 14, I listen to a lot of music from different parts of the world, everything, from Tango to Punk rock, and nevertheless I have to say you remain one of my favorite artists.
    All that being said, I think I understand how you must’ve felt on stage last thursday, I’m a musician as well (or at least I try to be) and I have a band too, and boy let me tell you, we HATE when the sound engineer screws up a gig because its actually a special ocasion that we like to share with the audience, and having to go through a lot of trouble just to share some music with people can really let you down, I have to admit it, or at least that’s the way I feel about it.
    One of the main things that got me worried about thursday was the actual response of people to your songs and to you as an artist, dont get me wrong, I love Lagwagon, but still I think its GREAT that you have a solo project and if you like to do it in acoustic format because you feel that’s the way that you enjoy it the most (or because you just like to experiment which is great as well) you go ahead and carry on with it and share it with people.
    What I saw through the lens of my camera on thursday was a total lack of respect to you as an artist not only by unproffessionalism of the sound engineer but also by some members of the audience as well, who repeteadly asked for drums or screamed “Where’s Lagwagon?”, I think your acoustic songs are just as good (if not better) as your Lagwagon songs, you have a wonderful voice and you have a great energy on stage, even though you had to deal with bad sound on stage and people not reacting to the music on stage you didnt get upset and you tried to play as long as you could, until it got to a point where I think (correct me if I’m wrong) it was IMPOSSIBLE to continue playing.
    In the end, I walked outside pretty sad, not because of the show, but because I was worried about the impression you must’ve got of this city and its people, your amazing mandolin player Chad, walked out as well to smoke a Cigarette and we had a brief chat in which he told me that he would’ve liked to play more songs, I replied that its not your fault that you got such an asshole as sound engineer, but instead of just ranting against him, he just answered in a really calm tone of voice “Nah, its ok, its not like he didnt want to help, I think he just was a novice” which only demonstrates how cool and understanding people you are, even though you are in the other side of the world in a place you dont know and with a different spoken language and WE are the ones that are supposed to be willing to understand and share culture with people from all around the world. But I guess some people just cant think outside the box.
    In the end I guess that the only thing I want to say is that I felt sad because you as the great artist you are, dont deserve the treatment you got here, you dont deserve an audience that barely pays attention to your songs just because they are acoustic but at the end of the gig pull you up just to take a god damn photograph, thats not respect, and I think respect is the key not only for human relationships but also the key for sharing, and I think you came here willing to share and have a good time with people from Rosario, but instead you got … well, what you got, and I just wanted to say sorry, deeply from inside of me, because I do feel sorry and I think you do deserve something better than what you got on thursday night, I hope people from other parts of the world treat you better and recognize you as the great artist you are, you deserve that and more.

    I hope you get the chance to read this, never stop playing the amazing music you play, you make lots of people (as me for an example) happy when you do, on your own or with whatever band you choose to play.

    Sincerely,

    Miguel Culaciati.

    Hey Joey,

    What I can see by your tour dates, is that you have forgot the best city in the entire world, BARCELONA, so WHEN are you coming alone and as Lagwagon as well!?!?!?!?

    come on man! you have to hit this town! And soon, Please! At least in 2010 :)

  • Vince Says:

    @Miguel Culaciati

    People we’re really screaming for Lagwagon?

    What a total lack of respect! A blaspheme!

    Lagwagon songs in “Bridge” are better than the originals.
